KBC Salutes a Champion- John Henry
The folks at the Kentucky Horse Park are very proud of their very special friends in the “Hall of Champions”— home to a select group of Thoroughbred, Saddlebred and Standardbred legends.

So it was with great sadness That we learned of the passing of John Henry, one of racing's greatest geldings. Over the years, KBC’s Pete Craycraft visited the champion almost every day when he made his regular deliveries to the Kentucky Horse Park.

Pete’s been working with horses all his life and was particularly fond of John Henry. That’s why we were touched and honored last August when our friends at the Horse Park gave Pete a photo of John Henry himself, complete with a lock of his hair. We at KBC wish to express our deepest respect for the passing of our friend and the hard-working professionals at the Kentucky Horse Park's Hall of Champions who cared for John Henry. Visit the Ky. Horse Park's website for more information on John Henry at http://www.kyhorsepark.com

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Race for Education sponsored by KBC (www.racingscholarships.com)

The Race for Education is a national education scholarship foundation funded by various parties related to or with an interest in the Thoroughbred racing industry. It is a nonprofit 501 (C) (3) organization established to improve the quality of life for young people through education, attract younger, better educated individuals to careers in the Thoroughbred industry and help establish the racing industry as a good citizen in the community.

They believe young people are the future of our industry. Their development will help create dedicated fans, employees and hopefully the horsemen of tomorrow.

Since its founding in 2002, The Race For Education has awarded college scholarships to students in 15 states from a broad variety of backgrounds with varied scholastic pursuits. As our students graduate, we will assist them in finding jobs within the Thoroughbred racing industry.
